For the past couple of weeks, a special pastry has begun popping up on every street corner in Mexico. Likewise, the avenues and the balconies are being lined with beautiful, bright orange flowers. The deliciously sweet pan de muertos and the striking cempasúchil herald Mexico’s most famous holiday, el día de muertos.
Join us this Thursday evening, October 29, for an exciting glance at the history of the Day of the Dead. Adrián Pascoe returns to tell us the long story of this holiday, which will take place a few days later, on November 1 and 2.
Whether or not you watched Coco, or have come to Mexico to witness it in person, this will be a great chance to learn not only about the tradition, but about the fascinating history behind el día de muertos. Don’t miss out!
The talk is open to all levels. It will be presented in Spanish with English subtitles, so it’s not only a great way to learn about Mexico, but to practice your comprehension skills as well!
You will also be able to get answers to your questions about Mexico and the traditions surrounding the Day of the Dead in a Q&A session with Adrián after the talk.
