Wyletter | Dallas, Texas | Solo

“The personalized instruction provided by Fluenz is just one of the ways that Fluenz really shined compared to other teaching methods. Prior to arriving in Oaxaca, Fluenz evaluated my Spanish language skills to determine my skill level. A curriculum was designed for me based on that evaluation, but it was not set it stone. The coaches had the ability to adjust it as needed based on how I progressed during the week. The Fluenz team monitored my progress on a class-by-class basis and adjusted the coursework and materials accordingly.”

Wyletter describes Fluenz “shining compared to other teaching methods” through personalized instruction, pre-arrival assessment, customized curriculum design, and daily adjustments based on observed progress—advantages absent from standard programs.

“And the 4 hours of Spanish language instruction per day were fabulous – 2 hours of solo work with a teacher and 2 hours of group work (only 2 persons) with an instructor. These instructors are top notch native speakers (and speak English fluently among other languages) and meet you where you are at with your Spanish knowledge. That is, no matter how much or how little Spanish you know when you arrive, you will have learned much more by the time you leave.”

Mark emphasizes “group work (only 2 persons)”—revealing the reality that Fluenz “group classes” contain just 1-2 students, providing nearly individual attention versus traditional large-group classes.

“Fluenz has an extremely detailed and organized approach to teaching/learning and I benefited greatly during my week with them. Sandra describes Monte Albán being reserved entirely for the private Fluenz group—exclusive access impossible with standard tour programs or language schools.

“What I most appreciated was that the instructors tailed my lessons and the curriculum to my specific needs and level. Dinners took place in the best restaurants in Oaxaca, a city known for its culinary scene. One of the best dinners that I have ever was on the last night of our program at a restaurant called Criollo. We were served seven imaginative courses, many with beautiful moles and sauces from the region.”

Penny describes curriculum tailored to her specific needs and level, combined with dining at “the best restaurants in Oaxaca” including a seven-course meal at Criollo—personalization and culinary excellence unavailable in standard programs.
