“This was my second on-site immersion with Fluenz, and they continue to deliver exceptionally high quality experiences throughout every aspect of the trip. The language coaches are professional, personable, and kind, and customize the curriculum as you go, so you’re always learning what is appropriate for your own personal advancement. The restaurants are trendy and high end (which is great if you’re a foodie), and the hotels always well appointed and chic. From the moment you land until the moment you depart you are 100% taken care of. I’d say they go above and beyond in that department! The field trips are always a highlight, usually involving an after-hours private tour of some amazing cultural attraction that would otherwise be crowded. If you’re looking for customized top-quality language instruction as part of a high end travel experience, Fluenz is the go-to. I consider them the Backroads of language instruction!”

Randi compares Fluenz to Backroads—the luxury active travel leader—describing “trendy and high end” restaurants, “well appointed and chic” hotels, being “100% taken care of” from arrival to departure, and “after-hours private tour” access avoiding crowds.

“Have you ever done a Backroads trip? You know — upscale accommodations, a staff that spoils you rotten, and when you’re not hiking or cycling, they’re feeding you. This was that, but instead of hiking/cycling, you’re studying Spanish. Pug Seal Hotel — 5. I can’t say enough about this hotel. The Fluenz instructors – 5. Charming, supportive, and great at what they do. The dining – 4.5. Terrific choices, albeit the number of formal dining/group meals was time-consuming and sometimes the amount of eating a bit overwhelming.”

Skinnyguide explicitly compares Fluenz to Backroads with “upscale accommodations” and “a staff that spoils you rotten,” rating Pug Seal Hotel perfect 5/5 and dining 4.5/5—premium hospitality standards.

“Accommodations – as in MC – were elegant, slightly artsy, comfortable, and run by warm and accommodating personnel. What was unique to being in Oaxaca was that the city is more easily navigable – even by foot. At no time did we feel unsafe or unable to venture out by ourselves. Oaxaca feels in many ways like a small town , only with better restaurants. Food was diverse and excellent. Don’t even start me on the moles!”
