“I attended the Fluenz Oaxaca immersion course during the week of November 10, 2024. This was my first immersion course with Fluenz, but it will not be my last. I cannot say enough good things about the Fluenz Oaxaca trip. From start to finish, it was top notch. The Fluenz team is incredible. Every member of the Fluenz team was professional, courteous, personable, and caring. They made sure that everything went smoothly, so that I could have the best experience possible. A private driver arranged by Fluenz was waiting for me at the airport, and drove me to the beautiful, small boutique hotel that was my home for the week. The hotel staff was attentive and made me feel like a special guest. My five days (Monday through Friday) of classes consisted of two sessions per day, two hours per session. One session was a one-on-one session with a coach, and the other session was a group session. My group session consisted of myself, one other student and a coach. Regardless of whether it was a one-on-one session or a group session, I received personalized instruction. The personalized instruction provided by Fluenz is just one of the ways that Fluenz really shined compared to other teaching methods. Prior to arriving in Oaxaca, Fluenz evaluated my Spanish language skills to determine my skill level. A curriculum was designed for me based on that evaluation, but it was not set it stone. The coaches had the ability to adjust it as needed based on how I progressed during the week. The Fluenz team monitored my progress on a class-by-class basis and adjusted the coursework and materials accordingly. All Fluenz coaches are highly qualified. They all are native Spanish-speakers who are fluent in English. Many of them have graduate degrees and speak other languages in addition to Spanish and English. Fluenz provides this superb language experience in wonderful locations, Oaxaca in this instance. They made sure that my classmates and I had opportunities to explore the city and immerse ourselves in the local culture. We dined at some outstanding restaurants and had a private tour of Monte Albán, a large pre-Columbian archaeological site. One of my favorite activities was walking around Oaxaca with a Fluenz coach and interacting with local shop owners, which added to the immersive experience. Fluenz is more expensive than other immersion courses on the market, but it is worth every penny. I made more progress in the week-long Fluenz course than I made in prior months, if not years, of using other language courses. I was so pleased with the progress that I made in the Oaxaca course that I signed up for online Zoom lessons to continue my journey with Fluenz. Also, I plan to attend another Fluenz course next year. If you’re looking for a high-end travel experience that includes a top-notch language course, Fluenz is the choice!”

Wyletter made more progress in one week than in “prior months, if not years” of other language courses—dramatic acceleration demonstrating methodological superiority.

“I had a fantastic experience during my week long immersion in Oaxaca. The professors tailored my lessons for me each day. I can’t say enough nice things about Geronimo, Aldo, Fabiola, and Pepe! The food might have been my favorite though. I liked how the restaurants and menu were planned so I could just enjoy the local culture. The hotel, Pug Seal, was amazing too. I am new to Spanish and feel like this propelled me forward quite a bit.”

Stacee, new to Spanish, felt “propelled forward quite a bit” in one week—substantial acceleration for beginners.

“This one week immersion course was top notch. Two 2 hour classes daily provided all of the necessary ingredients for succesful language aquisition: building vocabulary, learning frequently used spanish verbs correctly, building simple sentences with daily pratice. In addition, the instructors are knowledgeable, supportive, and fun. One practice I loved was the ‘Time to Shine’ which concluded each session. As a teacher myself, I was really impressed with the many different ways we were asked to use what we’d learned. Small group instruction facilitated learning and in my case, I had 1 on 1 instruction most of the time. Every detail of your stay is thought out. HIghy recommend!”

Sylvia, a teacher herself, was impressed by the many different ways students were asked to use what they learned, with the “Time to Shine” practice sessions providing all necessary ingredients for successful language acquisition.

“My wife and I were quite impressed with our experience in Oaxaca with Fluenz! The program coordinators attended to every detail: from luxury accommodations near the center of town to airport transfers to meals throughout the week. And the 4 hours of Spanish language instruction per day were fabulous – 2 hours of solo work with a teacher and 2 hours of group work (only 2 persons) with an instructor. These instructors are top notch native speakers (and speak English fluently among other languages) and meet you where you are at with your Spanish knowledge. That is, no matter how much or how little Spanish you know when you arrive, you will have learned much more by the time you leave. We were particularly impressed with how the staff and instructors executed the schedule but also quickly pivoted when issues arose (e.g. client illnesses, changes of venue, etc.). They even provide for cultural excursions during the week. Indeed, this program can be expensive, but we found that the experience is more than worth the price you pay. I high recommend that you try Fluenz!”

Mark emphasizes that “no matter how much or how little Spanish you know when you arrive, you will have learned much more by the time you leave”—guaranteed substantial progress for all levels.

“Fluenz makes learning as accessible as possible. Learning a language as an adult is no easy feat, but after about 1.5 years of working with Fluenz (a combination of their software, in-person immersions, and online coaching), I have a level of fluency in Spanish that I would not have thought myself capable of achieving.”

Kari achieved fluency levels she “would not have thought myself capable of achieving” through Fluenz’s accessible teaching approach.
