Julia Vitullo-Martin’s cohort size and structure: “16 people of diverse ages and backgrounds.” Sixteen people is large enough to find your people, small enough that everyone knows each other. Generic programs with 50+ students make cohort bonding impossible. Fluenz’s 16-person cohort is ideal size for connection without forced socializing.

Cohort mismatch isn’t possible with intentional diversity. Either way, instruction is individual/semiprivate—social compatibility doesn’t affect your learning. But evidence shows compatibility happens naturally anyway.
